March 21, 2014 (ISN) – Canadian Sport School is looking for elite high school athletes to register in Victoria, and the deadline to apply is Friday, March 28th.
The Canadian Sport School is an important initiative of the Canadian Sport Institute, delivered in partnership with PacificSport. With campuses located in Victoria, Kelowna, Prince George and Fort St. John, the program provides assistance for secondary school student-athletes who are balancing their educational and training demands.
Student-athletes are faced with the challenge of managing their athletic training requirements while meeting their academic goals. With the help of community partners and local school districts we have designed The Canadian Sport School to create an enriched sport environment to help athletes balance these pressures while earning credits required for graduation.
The program is open to high performance athletes in grades 10-12 who have been identified by their national or provincial sport organization under the Canadian long-term athlete development model. Discretion may be given to athletes, especially those entering grade 10, who have demonstrated a commitment to high performance sport and the potential to move through the athlete development pathway, as indicated by their coach.
