March 25, 2014, Saskatoon (ISN) – The Saskatoon Blades are embarking on a course that will change the face of the franchise. The Blades are looking for a new General Manager and Head Coach for the 2014-15 season and beyond.
G.M. Lorne Molleken and the team have agreed to part ways and the contract for Head Coach Dave Struch is not being renewed. The Blades will immediately start searching for candidates with a rich experience in the game and a tradition of winning. As the search commences, Molleken will stay on with the Blades to help guide them through this period of transition.
The Blades would also like to thank Curtis Leschyshyn for his time and commitment over the last two seasons. Curtis is moving on to help coach the Midget-AAA Saskatoon Blazers, where his son Jake will play next season.
The entire Saskatoon Blades organization, along with Managing Partner Colin Priestner and President Steve Hogle sincerely thank these men for all they’ve done for our players, the city of Saskatoon and the game of hockey.
Priestner, Hogle and Molleken will all comment this afternoon at a 1:30 pm news conference at the Park Town Hotel.
