Reminders about BCHL round-robin semifinals

by Brent Mutis

April 1, 2014 (ISN) – These are a couple of reminders on the current round-robin series currently taking place between the Victoria Grizzlies, Vernon Vipers and Coquitlam Express.

1. The goal of this round-robin is to eliminate one team. The remaining two go on to the best-of-seven Fred Page Cup Finals.

2. Home-ice advantage for the Finals is NOT determined by the results of the round-robin. It will go to the team with the best regular-season record.

3. The next two games in the round robin are between Victoria and Coquitlam; if one of them sweeps the next two games, they will be qualified for the Finals. The swept team will be eliminated.

4. In that scenario, there will be NO GAME on Saturday in Vernon.

5. Games 5 and 6 of the round robin, originally scheduled for April 5 and 7, would not be necessary if Victoria or Coquitlam sweeps the next two games.
