Over the past ten years of painting, each year I have found myself painting at least one piece that shows a figure sleeping, or rather dreaming. I am not sure why this recurring theme finds its way into each body of work I produce. Perhaps it is because I have vivid and detailed dreams, which I recall completely.
Often I use sleep and dreaming as a way of finding solutions to completing a painting. Makes me think of this quote, “I dream my paintings, then I paint my dreams. (Vincent van Gogh) Here are some of my favorite dreamers that I have painted over the past ten years.
