Velox Rugby news

velox-Rugby 1

April 11, 2014 (ISN) – The only home game for the club this weekend sees the Valhallians hosting Nanaimo at 1pm Saturday in an Island semi-final match.

Velox is 2-0 against the Hornets this half, but both matches have been very close so it promises to be a great match up!

The undefeated women are headed to Vancouver to take on #2 Burnaby Lake. Also Saturday (11:30am), the thirds head up to Cowichan for their last regular season match.

The VV Annual General Meeting held last night was well attended, with reports from the outgoing executive and voting for the next year. All but one current member are staying on for another term:

  • President: Mike Holmes
  • Vice-President: Mark Wyatt
  • Treasurer: Christel Hume
  • Secretary: Darryl Gaudreau
  • Director of Rugby: Toby Berg
  • Director of Fields: Phil Erb
  • Director of Clubhouse: Barry Wheelhouse
  • Director of Jr Rugby: Marlene Donaldson
  • Sgt at Arms: Jay Jimmo
  • Social Convenor: Annie Taal

Annie is replacing Sara Levson, who is staying on as the Bar Manager. The next time you see these club members, make a point of thanking them for all of their hard work!
