April 15, 2014, LANGFORD, BC (ISN) – Canada’s Women’s Fifteens head coach Francois Ratier has announced his starting roster to face USA on Tuesday, April 15 at Shawnigan Lake School in the first of two games in the ‘CANAM’ series.
Kick off is slated for 3:30pm local time (6:30pm Eastern Time) at the world-class facility in Mill Bay, British Columbia and the game is free for fans to attend.
Tuesday’s international fixture opens a busy 2014 for Canada’s Women’s Team, with a CAN-AM Series, June tour to New Zealand all in preparation for the IRB Women’s World Cup in August in Paris.
Canada will be facing a physical, determined team in the Americans on Tuesday, who have been training at Shawnigan Lake School on Vancouver Island after arriving late last week.
“They are a really physical team and I think we are as well so it’s going to be a very physical match on Tuesday,” said Mack.”
Canada’s Women’s Team went 3-1 en route to winning their first ever Nations Cup in Denver, Colorado last summer. Despite beating England on two occasions and South Africa once, Canada were bested by their North American rivals and are keen for the CANAM rematches.
“It will be really nice to have a rematch against them after last summer and to show them all the work we have been doing the girls have been working really hard and its coming out of this camp and we’re excited to be on the field against them on Tuesday,” added Mack.
