April 17, 2014 (ISN) – The women’s makeup game scheduled for Saturday has been forfeited by Abbotsford, so there is no club rugby on this weekend.

That makes it official though: the women have gone undefeated through regular season play, going 8-0 and outscoring their opponents 378 to 47. They begin their playoff drive May 3rd, at home for the BC semi-finals.

If want some rugby this weekend, try heading out to Langford Saturday: the Canadian Women 15’s host the U.S. at Westhills Stadium at 3:30pm in preparation for the 2014 World Cup. This is the second match of a two game series, with Canada taking the first match 51-7 at Shawnigan Lake School on Tuesday. Three Velox players were in that match: Barb Mervin, Julianne Zussman (3 tries), and Jessica Dovanne (2 tries). Well done, ladies, and good luck on Saturday!

Banquet

Tickets are on sale from this Thursday on for the annual end-of-season banquet, available at the bar for $40/person or the John Lyall special of $80/couple. Get them quick though, as the banquet is on May 3rfd and tickets are only available until the 27th. Dress is semi-formal.
