Vikes hockey hosts Spring Camp


April 24, 2014, Victoria, BC (ISN) – The University of Victoria Vikes Men’s Hockey team today announced that the club’s Spring Camp will be held at the Ian Stewart Complex Arena in Victoria between April 25-27.

Players attending the University of Victoria in the fall of 2014 are encouraged to attend Spring Camp in preparation for the 2014-14 BC Intercollegiate Hockey League (BCIHL) season. For more information about the University of Victoria Vikes Men’s Hockey team or to register for Spring Camp, please email Head Coach Harry Schamhart at There is no cost to attend Spring Camp.

Vikes Men’s Hockey 2014 Spring Camp

Friday, April 25 – 1:40-3:30 p.m.

Saturday, April 26 – 1:30-3:30 p.m.

Saturday, April 26 – 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Sunday, April 27 – 9:00-11:00 a.m.

Sunday, April 27 – 1:30-3:50 p.m.

Spring Camp will give players an opportunity to be evaluated by the Vikes’ coaching staff while prospective student-athletes will also be able to speak with University of Victoria recruiters and tour the campus prior to enrollment. Players are not required to attend every ice session.

The Vikes Men’s Hockey team is a student and volunteer-driven program. Spring Camp will give prospective players an opportunity to understand the commitment, both on the ice and academically, required by athletes to make Vikes Hockey a success.

The 2014-15 season will mark the BCIHL’s 9th year of existence as a premier destination for high calibre hockey talent in pursuit of a post-secondary education. The three-time BCIHL champion University of Victoria Vikes Men’s Hockey team is committed to furthering its culture of success through the development of student-athletes both in the classroom and on the ice.
