May 3, 2014 (ISN) – Hosts Scotland won all three of their day one matches to top their pool for the first time this season and proceed unbeaten with Series leaders New Zealand, Fiji and Canada to day two of the Emirates Airline Glasgow Sevens.
While the Scots won impressive victories against Australia, Spain and USA, the title-chasing Sevens All Blacks beat closest rivals South Africa to keep on track their 2013/14 HSBC Sevens World Series title ambitions.
Samisoni Viriviri scored five tries to take his Series tally to 45 as Fiji beat Kenya, Wales and Argentina. Canada scored impressive wins against newly-promoted Japan and France, and drew with England in their final pool match.
In the Cup quarter finals New Zealand face Australia, England play Fiji, hosts Scotland face South Africa and Canada line up against Kenya.
With the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Rugby Sevens just three months away, Scottish fans entered into the festival sprit in Glasgow and were treated to some breath-taking rugby.
