May 8, 2014, Medicine Hat, AB (ISN) – Medicine Hat Tigers announce this afternoon the promotion of Darren Kruger to the position of Senior Director, Player Development effective immediately.

Kruger will be responsible for advance scouting WHL teams along with overseeing the development of Tiger’s prospects playing at various levels in western Canada and the northwest United States.

“We have looked forward to filling this position from within our organization since it was vacated by Rick Carriere when he joined the Edmonton Oilers two years ago,” stated Tigers’ head coach / general manager Shaun Clouston.

“Darren has been with our team for the past nine seasons and it is imperative the person in this position has a vast knowledge of our organization. Darren certainly knows the qualities we value as Tigers. As highly competitive as the league has become, it is essential to once again add the senior director, player development position to our scouting staff. We look forward to working with Darren in his new position,” said Clouston.

“I am thankful and excited to continue on in our pursuit of bringing a third Memorial Cup championship to our city and fans,” stated Kruger.
