May 12, 2014, Nanaimo (ISN) – The Nanaimo Clippers are pleased to announce that 20 year old forward Jake Jackson has committed to play for the team for the upcoming 2014-2015 season.

The 6’0” 190lb forward joins the Clippers after spending the 2013-2014  season with the Des Moines Bucaneers of the USHL.  Prior to last season he was a star forward with Tartan High School in the USHS League.  Jackson was selected by the San Jose Sharks in the 7th Round of the 2013 National Hockey League Entry Draft and is committed to the NCAA Michigan Tech Huskies for the Fall of 2015. 

Coach Vandekamp:  “We are very excited to add a player of Jake’s caliber to our team for the upcoming season.  He will add great speed and skill to our forward group.

We believe Jake will have an immediate offensive impact and be an exciting player for our fans to watch.  We look forward to working with Jake and helping him be ready to make an impact with Michigan Tech in 2015.  We would like to welcome Jake and his Family to the Clippers Hockey Family and look forward to seeing him on the ice at Main Camp.”
