(May 14, 2014)ISN – The 22nd season of the Alberta Major Soccer League (AMSL), the highest level of elite amateur soccer in the province of Alberta and the only adult provincial league established within Canada, is set to kick off Today with two men’s games and one women’s game.
The AMSL provides high level competition to the top men’s and women’s teams in the cities of Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer and Lethbridge. In 2013, Edmonton Scottish took home the Championship in what proved to be a tight race for first place on the men’s side. They will begin their season on May 14 at 7 PM at Scottish 1 Field versus city rivals Edmonton Croatia Dinamo. In Calgary, both men’s and women’s Callies teams will take on the Dinosaurs and Lethbridge FC respectively at Forest Lawn Fields at 7 PM and 9 PM on Wednesday. On the women’s side, fresh off of a national championship in 2013, Edmonton Victoria will play their first home game on Saturday June 7th at Victoria Soccer Club versus the Red Deer Renegades.
