May 16 2014 ISN – PRINCE GEORGE, BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia
Hockey League (BCHL) would like to congratulate Don Lucas of Mackenzie after
his ticket (#0244) was drawn for the Grand Prize in the team’s annual Show
Home Lottery.

“I don’t believe this, how do I know this is real?” said Don Lucas as he was
contacted via telephone shortly after the draw. “I never expected to win
anything when I purchased the ticket; I did it to support the Spruce Kings.”

Don Lucas was in Parksville where he’ll be for the long weekend before
returning home next week. On his way back home, Lucas will be stopping by
his new home to let the reality of winning the Show Home valued at $491,225
sink in.

“Almost 100 people witnessed the draw and were present to hear Don being
congratulated over a speaker phone,” said Spruce Kings Communications
Director, Ron Gallo. “I don’t think it sunk in even after a half hour and
even with all of the people present congratulating him with applause. Don
called back twice to try and confirm it for himself.”

Also drawn Thursday night at the Show Home was the Third Period of the Mega
50/50 with Shirley Wilson of Vancouver winning the $40,000 cash jackpot

“I support the Spruce Kings by buying their Lottery tickets every time I’m
in Prince George visiting my daughters,” said Shirley Wilson. “I’ve never
been to a game but I’m now a fan and I’m going to be at their games down
