The young guns, looking for those years of lacrosse knowledge from the opposing team, appeared nervous and a bit apprehensive in the early going and the Shamrocks, rusty.

Smiles were plastered across many faces both on the floor and in the stands as every one started to get in to the groove of this fun competition the organisers are hoping to become an annual or semi annual event.

The Alumni team got on the board first and were quickly up by 4 goals before the young guns found the back of the net and broke the spell they were under. From that point on it was apparent which team knew each other better as JDF put together many well executed plays and worked hard.

The older more experienced Shamrocks were up to the challenge and never took their foot off the gas as balls rebounded off the iron at an alarming rate, while occasionally one went in. After three periods of good entertainment the score stood at 13-5 for the Shamrock alumni.

The “Stars of the future” got a rare opportunity to play with some of the great “Stars of the past”. I bet you they will both sleep well tonight.
