Take a look around: you are sure to see the signs of one or two major international soccer tournaments taking place this summer. While the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil starts 12 June, the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014 kicks off on 5 August 2014 in Edmonton, Toronto, Montréal and Moncton.
In Canada, you may have seen one of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup activation pieces, be it an advertisement at busy Union Station in downtown Toronto or the green “Canada 2014” tent at a local soccer tournament.
The competition is just around the corner, with 16 national teams to compete in the 32-match final competition from 5-24 August. Individual match tickets are on sale via FIFA.com/Canada2014, with popular Me+3 packs offering a fun way to attend the matches.
For a chance to see the stars of tomorrow, the tickets are very reasonably priced between $10-$50 each.
As for upcoming activations, fans in Montréal will have an opportunity to get their photo taken with the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Winner’s Trophy on Friday 6 June at the Grand Prix Festival on Crescent Street. The opportunity takes place during Montréal’s One Year To A Greater Goal countdown event, which is a six-city celebration looking ahead to next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™.
Similar One Year To A Greater Goal countdown events take place in Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa and Moncton. Of note in Vancouver, fans will have the opportunity to meet members of the Canadian U-20 team at the Terry Fox Plaza at BC Place (09.00 local). Canada opens the tournament against Ghana in Toronto on 5 August.
