June 3,2014(ISN) – VICTORIA, B.C. – Every game – every single home game – a fan will leave a WINNER.
The Victoria HarbourCats are proud to partner with CHEK-TV, LA Limousines and Clipper Vacations on a promotion that will be centre stage every night, and ends with a major trip on the season’s final day at Sports Traders Diamond at Royal Athletic Park.
GETAWAY DAYS, presented by CHEK-TV, will include LA Limousines taking lucky winners away from the park every night. An LA Limousine will transport the winners, in style, to a restaurant, a movie, a tourist spot – lots of fun places are on the list.
Then – the real fun. At the end of the season, each of the previous winners will need to be at the August 10th game, the capper for the regular season, and be ready, because someone is going on a trip for four, on the Clipper ferry to Seattle, for two nights of hotel, and seats to watch the Toronto Blue Jays visit the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field on August 11th. The winners will be on the first Clipper ferry on Tuesday, August 12th, returning to Victoria.
Fans will find entry forms inside the Official Souvenir Program, and an entry box at the team’s merchandise stand.
“Those who win the nightly prize will have to arrive at the August 10th game with a bag packed, arrangements made for work on Monday, their passports – all those things, because they have a one-in-26 chance of going on the Clipper ferry,” said HarbourCats General Manager Jim Swanson.
“This will be a lot of fun every night, and will build to a crescendo with that last game and the big trip to see the Blue Jays play the Mariners on the line.”
Among the places the nightly winners will go in the glorious comfort of an LA Limousine – Bin 4 Burger Lounge, Cineplex Odeon on Yates, View Royal Casino, Spinnaker’s, Butchart Gardens, Romeo’s, Yates St. Taphouse, Pagliacci’s, The Keg, Pure Day Spa, Upstairs Lounge, and the Tally Ho.
“The build-up is something our staff is excited to see, when the draw is made by Carolyn in the middle of games, choosing who is getting in the LA Limousine in the 8th inning,” said Swanson.
The Victoria HarbourCats have added RHP Nick Kearley, a Victoria product, to the roster, adding further depth to the pitching staff. The six-foot-five former Eagles hurler has collegiate experience at Dickinson State in North Dakota. He will throw collegiately for Robert Morris University in Illinois next fall. The HarbourCats currently have 22 pitchers on the roster.

Ande is completing her studies at Templeton High School in Templeton, California, near San Luis Obispo, and Coach Miller has returned home for a few days to be with his daughter and his family. Ande will attend Cuesta College and swim collegiately for the Cougars next season, at the same school where Coach Miller leads the baseball program. Coach Miller will be back in Victoria for Thursday when the HarbourCats start play with an exhibition game against the combined Eagles/Mariners of the PBL (7:11pm at Sports Traders Diamond at Royal Athletic Park).
