June 3,2014(ISN) – Medicine Hat, AB – Medicine Hat Tigers’ General Manager and Head Coach Shaun
Clouston announced this morning the team has signed James Hamblin to a WHL
contract. The Tigers selected Hamblin in the first round, 17th overall in
the 2014 WHL Bantam draft.

organization,” stated Clouston. “James is an elite player who approaches the
game with great passion and intensity. We look forward to his future as a

James played the past two seasons for the South Side Athletic Club Lions in
the Alberta Major Bantam League. This past season, he put up impressive
numbers scoring 32 goals and adding 30 assists for 62 points in only 31
games. James was a member of the Alberta Cup Edmonton South Bruins team this
past season. The Alberta Cup is an all-star team comprised of kids from the
Major Bantam League. James captained the South team and his leadership was
shown on the ice as well, sporting 5 points in 5 games.

Hamblin’s signing comes on the heels of a successful Orientation Camp,
which saw 21 prospects aged 14-16 attend to show Tigers coaching staff their
potential and character throughout the 3 day weekend. Next up for the Tigers
will be their annual Main Camp in the fall.
