OTTAWA – The Gee-Gees men’s basketball team will open itssummer exhibition schedule by travelling to Montreal to meet theIndiana Hoosiers at Champlain College. The game is set for 7 p.m.on Sunday, August 10. An announcement of additional games, held atMontpetit Hall, will be made shortly.
The Hoosiers’ trip north will also include games againstMcGill and Carleton and will be the first Canadian visit for theBig Ten program, which last travelled internationally to theBahamas in 2007.
Indiana returns a large portion of its roster fromlast season, losing just three seniors. Leading scorer Yogi Ferrellwill headline the group heading north having led the squad with17.3 points per game as part of the team’s 17-15 overallrecord. The Hoosiers exited the Big Ten tournament in the firstround, falling to Illinois.
Ottawa recorded a 1-2 record against NCAA competition lastsummer, recording a 90-74 win over Texas Christian Universitybefore losing a by a single digit margin to the Wisconsin Badgerswho reached the 2014 NCAA Final Four, and by a 73-50 score toSyracuse.
