As part of the Games, the Team held a series of training sessions from 30 May – 1 June in Northumberland County, located in central Ontario, approximately one-hour East of Toronto.
The Para Soccer team is currently preparing for the America Cup, which takes place in Toronto from 19–26 September. This international tournament will determine which teams compete at next year’s Para Pan Am Games.
This recent camp allowed Head Coach Drew Ferguson to check on the condition of his players, especially those on the cusp of making the Team. “We want to check on their progress,” says Ferguson “to see which ones are developing.”
Those looking to break into the squad for the America Cup will need to do so at the remaining eight bi-monthly camps, spread across British Columbia and Ontario, prior to the Team’s final training session in Toronto.
