June 8,2014(ISN) – MONTERREY, Mexico – Jennifer Abel of Laval, Que., nailed her last dive in the final
and won the bronze medal on Saturday on women’s three-metre at the sixth and last
stop on the FINA World Series circuit.

Tingmao Shi of China earned the gold with 369.90 points, Laura Sanchez of Mexico was
second at 362.40 and Abel won a four-way battle for third spot with 351.55. It was
Abel’s second medal of the competition. On Friday she was also third on three-metre
synchro with Pamela Ware of Beloeil, Que.

In the final World Series women’s three-metre synchro standings, Han Wang of China
took the title with 82 points despite not competing here this weekend, He Zi of
China was second at 70 and Tania Cagnotto of Italy third at 66.

Ware eliminated in the semifinals earlier Saturday was fifth at 51 and Abel sixth at
50. Both Canadians won two bronze this season on the circuit.

Competition ends Sunday with the men’s and women’s 10-metre tower. Meaghan Benfeito
of Montreal and Roseline Filion of Laval are the Canadian entries in women’s
competition.
