June 11, 2014 – Canada’s top collegiate men’s soccer teams will battle for a national title at Champlain College Saint-Lambert in 2015.
The Cavaliers have been awarded the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association’s Men’s Soccer National Championship, which will be held Nov. 11-14, 2015.
The college has hosted a number of events in recent years, including the 2012 Cross-Country Running National Championships and the 2014 CCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship.
Saint-Lambert is the largest of the three campuses that make up Champlain Regional College. The school is located on the South Shore of Montreal.
The Intercollegiate Athletic Program at Saint-Lambert has a long tradition of excellence. In recent years, men’s soccer, men’s basketball and cross-country running teams have been ranked nationally. Champlain Saint-Lambert is also the only team from La Belle Province to win a CCAA gold medal in soccer (2007).
Amato is confident the college will embrace this event. “We have a proud tradition in education and athletics,” he said. “By tying in the experiential learning from hosting events like this to classroom curriculum, we believe that we can offer a truly satisfying educational experience to our students and provide a lasting memory for the student-athletes who participate.”
Sheridan College of the OCAA will host the 2014 CCAA Men’s Soccer National Championship Nov. 5-8..
