June 11, 2014 – The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association’s PING Golf National Championships are heading west in 2015.
The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades will host the tournament, which will be held Oct. 13-16, 2015 at the Chilliwack Golf Club, one of the premier 18-hole courses in British Columbia. The PACWEST last hosted in 2010.
“We’re very excited about the opportunity to host the 2015 CCAA Golf National Championships at a spectacular golf course nestled in the beautiful Fraser Valley,” said Rocky Olfert, Athletics Director at UFV. “Our committee is committed to providing a great student-athlete experience and we can’t wait to welcome the top golfers in the CCAA,” said Olfert.
In 2013, the Chilliwack Golf Club was named the B.C. Golf facility of the year. Top-calibre events at both the amateur and professional levels are regularly hosted at the course, which will provide a fair but stern test for players at the collegiate level. The par-71 course measures 6,335 yards.
The UFV Cascades dominated the 2013 CCAA Golf National Championships, capturing gold in both the men’s and women’s team events. They also earned silver and bronze medals in both the men’s and women’s individual events.
The 2014 PING CCAA Golf National Championships will be hosted by the RSEQ’s Champlain College St. Lawrence Oct. 14-17..
The CCAA is a national sport organization that enriches the lives of student-athletes through intercollegiate competition.
