June 12,2014(ISN) – VANCOUVER, B.C. – The Canucks for Kids Fund (CFKF), in conjunction with General Motors of Canada, are proud to announce that Les and Barbara Frederick have won the 2014 Telethon Car Draw. The Burnaby couple are now the proud new owners of a 2014 Chevy Trax LTZ, courtesy of General Motors of Canada.
“Wow that was and is the best thing that ever happened to us,” said Les Frederick. “First I want to thank General Motors of Canada for donating the car, the Vancouver Canucks for the great things they do and allowing us to contribute to such a great cause. Thanks for all of the wonderful work your organization does in our community. Thank you all once again.”
More than $400,000 in net proceeds was raised during the 24th annual Canucks for Kids Fund Telethon, presented by Chevrolet, with all proceeds benefitting the Canucks for Kids Fund.
The Canucks for Kids Fund is in its 29th year of giving back to children’s charities in British Columbia and has given more than $45 million in that span. Core beneficiaries and programs include, the Canucks Autism Network (CAN), Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, Canucks Family Education Centre, the Canucks Centre for BC Hockey and several educational programs.
The Vancouver Canucks would like to extend their gratitude to all those who have donated to the CFKF Telethon, presented by Chevrolet, for their generous contributions. The Vancouver Canucks would also like to thank Chevrolet, Integrated Health Clinic, Rogers, Sportsnet Pacific, TEAM 1040 and the Vancouver Sun for contributing to the success of this year’s telethon.
