June 11, 2014(ISN ) – Calgary, AB – The Western Hockey League, in partnership with Okanagan
Hockey Schools, will be hosting a WHL Combine in Leduc, AB on Saturday
June 14th at the Leduc Recreation Centre. The WHL Combines
are designed to assist minor hockey players with their skill development
by participating in a new state of the art testing system.

This weekend’s event in Leduc will feature two WHL 2014 Bantam Draft
picks including Red Deer Rebels’ Brayden Labant and Edmonton Oil Kings’
Brandon Vogel. The Combine will also have current WHL players Brett
Zarownny (Prince George Cougars), Tyler Dea (Saskatoon Blades) and
Alumni Drew Nichol (Edmonton Oil Kings/Alberta Golden Bears), who will
act as group leaders and player mentors throughout the day.

In addition, Edmonton Oil King and Memorial Cup Champion Riley
Kieser, will be a guest speaker at the WHL Player Experience
Presentation, where he will provide players with insights on what it
takes to make it to the WHL and the benefits of playing in the league.

The WHL Combines, are held throughout Western Canada and the United
States and will consist of a full day of on and off-ice testing,
instructional tips, a player development seminar, and a presentation on
the WHL player experience. The Camps are open to Bantam and Midget-aged
players from the 1997-2001 age groups. When a player completes a WHL
Combine, they will be given a player specific username and password to
check their results and compare themselves to other combine
participants. The results will identify the strengths of a player, as
well as areas where improvement may be required. All test scores will be
sent to WHL clubs for scouting purposes.
