Leone Named Head Coach for 2015 Team

June 19,2014(ISN) – BC Hockey announced June 18, 2104 that Sylvain Leone (Kelowna) has been named the Head Coach for the Female Under 18 Team BC that will compete at the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George, BC from February 13, 2015 to March 1, 2015.

Leone has been actively involved with coaching various levels and teams throughout BC for over 10 years including coaching at the Female Midget AAA and Junior B levels. He has also been a part of the Female High Performance program as coach of the 2012 U18 Team BC and Provincial Camps.

BC Hockey’s Female Under 18 level is the third and final stage of the High Performance Program. It is an opportunity for the top players in the Province to train and compete at an elite level and is meant to introduce players to the beginning of the Hockey Canada Program of Excellence.

The 2015 Canada Winter Games will be the largest multi-sport and cultural event to ever be held in Prince George and Northern BC. It is forecasted to generate an economic impact of $70 to $90 million while building champions and inspiring dreams amongst Canadian youth. Athletes from 10 Provinces and three (3) Territories will compete in 19 sports with the dream of becoming Canada’s next champion.
