June 20,2014(ISN) – SANTA CLARA, California – For the second straight night Brittany MacLean of
Etobicoke, Ont., and Ryan Cochrane of Victoria won silver and bronze medals on
Friday at the final stop on the U.S. Grand Prix swimming circuit.

In the women’s 400-m freestyle, Lotte Friis of Denmark took the gold clocking four
minutes and 06.83 seconds. MacLean, second in the 1500-m freestyle on Thursday,
followed in 4:07.23 and Andreina Pinto of Venezuela was third in 4:07.25.

In the men’s 400-m freestyle, Connor Jaeger led the U.S. to a 1-2 finish in 3:47.98.
Michael McBroom was second in 3:49.26 and Cochrane, a two-time Olympic medallist,
took third in 3:50.84. Cochrane was also third in the 800-m free on Thursday.

Tera Van Beilen of Oakville, Ont., was fourth in the women’s 200-m breaststroke in
2:30.34 missing a berth on the podium by 0.32 seconds.
