June 26,2014(ISN) – Ontario Blues head coach Chris Silverthorn has named his starting lineup for Saturday’s clash against USA Rugby’s Collegiate All-Americans at the Irish Cultural Center in Canton, Mass.

Silverthorn has chosen to start a mixture of veterans and up-and-coming talent, and has stated that Saturday’s lineup will be very comparable to the level of the team he expects to name for Ontario’s Canadian Rugby Championship opener against the Atlantic Rock in August.

In the front row, Canadian international prop Tom Dolezel and Canada U20 hooker Sawyer Herron will be joined by Balmy Beach prop Jacob Rumball.

The second row will be manned by the Balmy Beach tandem of Scott Dunham and Haddon Murray, while the back row will feature Toronto Scottish’s Tim Richardson at Number 8, as well as two flankers with recent international experience: Canada U20 standout Lucas Rumball and the Canada ‘A’-capped Alistair Clark.

In the backs, Oakville Crusaders’ Andrew Ferguson remains at the scrum half position, alongside Stoney Creek’s Shawn Windsor at fly half. Internationally-capped captain Derek Daypuck and Balmy Beach’s Dan Moor will start as centres, while the back three will be made up of Waterloo County’s Rich Lebel, recent Canadian National Sevens debutant Jake Webster, and Canada Maple Leafs Sevens fullback Dan Mathie.

Ontario will have a wealth of veteran forward experience on the bench: substitutes include the Lindsay RFC front row duo of JT Rowbotham and Rob Brouwer, Balmy Beach’s Hank McQueen in the second row, London’s Seb Pearson at hooker/Number 8, and the versatile Pat Richardson in the back row.

Back row substitutes include Markham Irish’s Dave Worsley, Oshawa Vikings’ Matt Alexander, and London’s Josh Campbell.

The All-Americans’ match against the Blues will be the third of their three-match June series, which will also see them face Cambridge University in a back-to-back matchup.

The match against the All-Americans marks the final preseason game for the Blues. From there, Ontario will kick off their Canadian Rugby Championship season against the Atlantic Rock on August 16 at Twin Elm Rugby Park in Ottawa.
