Scott Secord

Crans-Montana, Switzerland – The UBC Thunderbirds were well represented at the 15th World University Golf Championship in Crans-Montana, Switzerland this week. Scott Secord and Conner Kozak competed for the Canadian men, while Casara Hong played for the Canadian women.

Fresh off his individual victory at the Canadian University Golf Championship in early June, Secord finished in a tie for 10th overall at +1 (70-71-74-74) for the 72 hole event. Kozak came in 49th place at +19 (72-84-72-79)

Joined by Aaron Pauls and Alexander Dumais, the Canadian men finished fifth overall in the team event at +9. Spain was the winner at -20.

Hong, who helped UBC to a Canadian University Golf Championship for the 10th time earlier this month, finished in 59th place in the women’s event at +40 (87-80-77-84).

Teamed up with Brynn Tomie and Megan Woodland, Hong and the Canadian women finished in 11th in the team event at +30. Like the men, the Spanish women were crowned champions.
