June 28,2014(ISN)- Two members of the Kelowna Rockets were drafted on day two of the 2014 NHL Entry
Draft in Philadelphia.

Justin Kirkland was selected in the third round (62nd overall) by the Nashville
Predators while Rourke Chartier was chosen by the San Jose Sharks in the 5th round
(149).

Kirkland, a 17-year old native of Camrose, is coming off his first full season with
the Rockets. As a rookie the 6-foot-3 forward was eighth in WHL rookie scoring with
17 goals, 31 assists and 48 points in 68 games. He was also plus-23 on the season.

Chartier, an 18-year-old Saskatoon native, claimed three Rockets awards after his
second season with the team, being named Kelowna’s top defensive forward, most
sportsmanlike as well as scholastic player. The 18-year-old played in all 72 games
last season, posting 24 goals and 34 assists for 58 points.
