July 9,2014(ISN) –  Victoria – It is with great pleasure that we introduce our new Associate Coach Micah Aivazoff.

Micah has been involved in hockey for about 40 years both as a player and scout. He will be a

terrific addition to our team.

level and will be able to first hand teach the players on what it takes to be an everyday

the day he started to play all the way thru his career has never changed. In the game of

hockey it is important to surround your organization with individuals that will help

create an everyday winning culture and today we have done just that.”

Micah Aivazoff played three seasons in the NHL for the Detroit Red Wings, Edmonton Oilers and

New York Islanders. Playing a total of 92 NHL games and recorded four goals, six assist and 46

penalty minutes.

The native of Powell River played four season of junior hockey for the Victoria Cougars in the

WHL from 1985-89. In his final season for the Cougars he had 100 points and 100 plus penalty

minute season recording 35 goals, 65 assists and 136 penalty minutes in 70 games. The LA Kings

drafted Micah after his third season of junior 109th overall. He signed with the Red Wings as a

free agent in 1993 playing one season in Detroit before stints in Edmonton and New York.

Micah played the majority of his professional career in the minors playing in the AHL, IHL and

also playing professional hockey in Germany. He retired in 2002 after 15 years of professional

hockey. Micah returned to the NHL in 2008 as a scout for the Tampa Bay Lightening scouting for

the organization for three seasons.
