The first of four FIFA Live Your Goals events ahead of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014 took place on Saturday 12 July in Laval, QC. The four FIFA Live Your Goals events will take place in the four Official Host Cities, with Montréal (Laval) to be followed by Moncton (19 July), Edmonton (27 July) and Toronto (1 August).

FIFA’s “LIVE YOUR GOALS” campaign is one of FIFA’s most recognised initiatives in women’s soccer. The “LIVE YOUR GOALS” campaign features female players around the world who are living their dreams by playing and competing in soccer.

Linked to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014, the four “LIVE YOUR GOALS” festivals target young girls across Canada and involving clubs and schools. The girls participating at “LIVE YOUR GOALS” events will have the chance to play soccer, meet soccer stars and have a close look at the Trophy of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

At the 12 July event in Laval, young players got to meet CONCACAF champions Josée Bélanger and Rhian Wilkinson as well as Canada U-20 hopefuls Vanessa Grégoire, Amandine Pierre-Louis and Valérie Sanderson.

Today there are 29 million women and girls playing soccer worldwide. Soccer is a sport for everyone: the game is fun, easy and fair. If you are interested in keeping fit, healthy and cool then it is the sport for you.
