July 12,2014(ISN) – MONTREAL- Mia Doucet-Vallée of the Pointe-Claire Diving Club earned her second gold
medal in two days on Saturday placing first on women’s three-metre in the 12-13 age
group at the 2014 Speedo Junior Development Nationals.
Doucet-Vallée collected 377.75 points with Margo Erlam of the Calgary Diving Club
second at 340.30 and Erin Field of Pointe-Claire third at 319.50.
The best dive for Doucet-Vallée was her back two and a half on which she earned a
9.0 and three 8.5’s.
“It’s a dive I’m very confident with,” said Doucet-Vallée, 13, also the one-metre
winner Friday. “But I had never done it this well. I have a lot new dives this
season and I’ve adapted well to the changes.”
In the boys 12-13 one-metre, Victor Povzner of the Optimal Club in Markham, Ont.,
was first with 326.35 points. Jacob Zimmel of Edmonton Keyano was second at 300.70
and Bryden Hattie of Boardworks in Victoria third at 299.05.
“I compete much better on one-metre than three-metre,” said Povzner, who narrowly
missed the podium in the other springboard event on Friday. “I felt I had a chance
