July 15,2014(ISN) - OTTAWA - The 2014 Combined Events Festival, which includes the Panamerican Combined Events Cup and Canadian Junior / Senior Combined Events Championships, begins tomorrow in the nation's capital at Terry Fox Athletics Facility at Mooney's Bay. Canada will be represented in both the junior and senior sections of the Panamerican Cup. Athletes competing for junior combined events national titles will compete Wednesday and Thursday, senior national titles will be contested on Thursday and Friday. The Canadian Panamerican Combined Events Cup team features a few returning athletes including Patrick Arbour of Ottawa, Ont., and Rachael McIntosh of Bridgewater, N.S. Arbour finished seventh last year scoring 7183 points. He also won silver at the 2013 Canadian Championships in the decathlon. McIntosh was also seventh at this event last year with 5307 points and won silver in the heptathlon at the 2013 Canadian Championships.
