July 20,2014(ISN) – Fraser Valley (Zone 3) hurdled and hauled in multiple gold medals at the BC Summer Games in Nanaimo.
In the girls 80 metre hurdles, Fraser Valley’s Megan Champoux won gold after she clocked a time of 11.88 seconds. The Aldergrove resident edged out Vancouver-Squamish’s (Zone 6) Emma Rastad by 0.12 seconds.
Fraser Valley’s Hannah Morrison captured the bonze medal with a time of 12.02.
In the boys 100 metre hurdles, Fraser Valley (Zone 3) came out on top in a race that came down to the wire.
Fraser Valley’s Dominic Luccock edged out Fraser River-Delta’s (Zone 4) Joshua Filafilo by milliseconds.
Luccock, a resident of Surrey crossed the finish line at 14.92 seconds while Filafilo, who’s from New Westminster, crossed the line at 14.94 seconds.
Thompson-Okanagan’s (Zone 2) Matthew Campmans, who hails from Kamloops, came in third after he crossed the line at 15.51 seconds.
Vancouver-Squamish’s (Zone 5) Anastas Eliopoulos was given a DNF (Did Not Finish) after he fell during the race, however, the Vancouver resident was able to complete the race.
