(ISN) – July 21, 2014, GATINEAU, QC: Volleyball Canada is pleased to announce the roster for
the U21 NORCECA Continental Championship in San Salvador, El Salvador, July 27 to
Aug. 4, 2014.

The players (listed below) were selected to the junior team program following the
National Team Challenge Cup, which was held July 15 to 20 at the Centre Sportif de
Gatineau in Gatineau, QC.

“We are very excited about the new crop of athletes chosen this weekend,” said
Volleyball Canada High Performance Director, Julien Boucher. “Even though the
program for this summer will be short, we have confidence in this group and we are
entering the tournament with the goal of qualifying for next year’s U21 World
Championship.”

Fourteen athletes are currently participating in a five-day training camp at
Algonquin College in Ottawa, and 12 will be travelling to El Salvador for the
tournament. Montreal’s Gabriel Chancy is the only returning athlete from last year’s
junior team that finished 12th at the FIVB U21 World Championship in Turkey.

The top two teams from this tournament will earn a berth at the 2015 FIVB U21 World
Championship. At the last U21 qualifier event in Colorado Springs, US, Canada
finished second to the Americans to claim a spot at the 2013 U21 World Championship.
