July 22,2014(ISN) – Third-year Huskie Michelle Young will represent Canada at the 2014 North America,
Central America and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC) Under 23 Track & Field
Championships August 8 to 10 in Kamloops, British Columbia.

The 2014 CIS and Canada West 60-metre hurdles champion is scheduled to compete in
the 100-metre hurdles on Saturday, August 9. Young, a nursing student from
Saskatoon, is no stranger to the 100-metre distance. At the 2013 Canada Summer
Games, she captured the gold medal in the event with a time of 13.81 seconds. She
also finished sixth at the 2014 Canadian Track & Field Championship in June.

Young, the lone participant from Saskatchewan, is one of 35 athletes who were
selected by Athletics Canada to don the red and white in Kamloops.

The Canadian squad brought home 18 medals (4 gold, 6 silver and 8 bronze) from
Irapuato, Mexica in 2012. The event was last held on Canadian soil in 2004 in
Sherbrooke, Quebec.
