27 year old cyclist Nic Hamilton has been ruled out of track events at the Commonwealth Games following a collision with a technical official during training on Wednesday.

Hamilton, from Victoria, is understood to have suffered a concussion during the incident and as per protocol he has been sidelined for the next seven days – forcing him to miss the track events at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome.

The technical official is believed to have suffered a concussion and a broken collar bone as a result of the collision, which occurred as Hamilton was coming out of the final corner.

Hamilton’s condition is being monitored and it is hoped that he will be able to compete in the road events later in the Games.
