28 July, 2014 (ISN) New Zealand’s strangle hold on the Rugby Sevens, which has been in place since 1998 when the -event began was broken today by South Africa in a closely fought match at Ibrox Stadium that ended 17-12 for the Springboks.

The news that the undefeated New Zealand squad lost the only match of the Games is the biggest upset so far. New Zealand have been the dominant side in Rugby Sevens since the event was first seen in Kuala Lumpur in 1998.
