Victoria Grizzlies forward David Walchuk has earned a NCAA scholarship to Lake Forest College.
After playing his last three seasons with the Grizzlies, David has now committed to continue playing high level hockey at a school with a strong academic program. Lake Forest is NCAA division three school located in Illinois just outside of Chicago.
The 6’3”/200 lb power forward is a hard-nosed player willing to work in the toughest areas of the ice making him a difficult player to play against. He was utilized as a key penalty killer in games where his defensive skills and strong puck possession earned him high accolades from both coaching staff and players.
He has worked tirelessly through off-ice training to achieve a high caliber of fitness in becoming a competitive hockey player and no doubt he will be ready to join the Lake Forest FORESTERS this upcoming season.
The Victoria Grizzlies wish David all the best.
