Home opener Military Appreciation game vs VI Raiders

Westshore Rebels Logo

July 29,2014(ISN) – Langford, B.C. – Week 2 in the Canadian Junior Football League has island
rival Vancouver Island Raiders coming into Westhills Stadium for our
Westshore Rebels home opener on Saturday August 2nd at 7pm. The Rebels
dropped week 1 to the Kamloops Broncos and the Raiders dropped their game to
the Langley Rams, so both teams will be looking for their first win.

Our community has a proud military history in the Greater Victoria area and
we would like to honour that with a Military Appreciation game. We are
excited to have the colour party from Langford Branch 91 of the Royal
Canadian Legion along with the Albert Head Air Cadet Band performing the
National anthem and at half time, a military discount for all members with
military ID (to be used towards a maximum of 4 single tickets), coin toss by
Langford Mayor Stew Young, official season kickoff by Langford Legion
president Dave Bennett and food bank donation bins to help the Greater
Victoria area (and a chance to win prizes with every canned food or money
donation). We are also planning other events throughout the game to honour
our proud military.
