Sabourin-Germain cracks top-five at diving Grand Prix

Aug 2,2014(ISN) – BOLZANO, Italy – Marc Sabourin-Germain of Mascouche, Que., took fifth spot on men’s
three-metre on Saturday for Canada’s best result so far at a FINA Grand Prix diving
competition.

Matthieu Rosset of France won the gold medal with 454.95 points, Ken Terauchi of
Japan was second at 453.95 and his compatriot Sho Sakai third at 449.45.
Sabourin-Germain earned 406.00 points in the final.

Sabourin-Germain, 21, gained the last spot for the semis finishing 12th in the
preliminaries and was third in his semifinal heat. The top-three from each of the
two semis advanced. Tyler Henschel of Sherwood Park, Alta., was 21st.

On men’s 10-m, Ethan Pitman of Edmonton advanced to Sunday’s final placing third in
his semifinal heat. Tyler Roberge of Edmonton was 13th in prelims missing a berth
in the semis by one spot.

On women’s three-metre, Melissa Citrini-Beaulieu of St-Constant, Que., was ninth in
preliminaries and fifth in her semi heat for 10th overall.

Competition ends Sunday.
