August 2, 2014 Victoria, BC (ISN) – Host Hampton Allstars took one step closer to a trip to softball Little League World series with a 15-1 win over Windsor, Ontario in game one of the Canadian Championships.

The Allstars took advantage of some problematic pitching on the Windsor side that allowed Hampton to cross home plate for an 8-0 lead in the first inning. Hampton’s pitcher Kasha Ross would be solid in the pitching ring, throwing strikes with consistency that Windsor would have trouble keeping up with.  The visiting Windsor team, unable to recover from that early push from the home side would give up an additional 6 runs in the top of the second inning capped by a 3 run triple by Saleen Burnett to all but put the game out of reach. Windsor, denying Hampton the shut out, would find a way to score a run late, but would fall in a 15-1 Hampton Allstar victory.

The two team, best of five series will decide Canada’s Champion to compete in the World Series to be held in Portland, Oregon. The Hampton Allstars are no strangers to the caliber of competition they possibly face. The team boasts 5 returning Canadian Champion players from last year’s World Series.
