Aug 6,2014(ISN) – The BCFC is proud to announce the “BC Lions Players of the Week” for Week 2
of the regular season.
Offensive Player of the Week – Receiver – #3 Nathan Leader – Westshore
Despite being on the losing end, the BC Lions Offensive Player of the Week
is Westshore Rebels receiver is Nathan Leader. The White Rock native gained
a Conference high 211 yards on six receptions including a 66 yard catch
against a very talented VI Raiders secondary.
Defensive Player of the Week – Linebacker – #35 Chris Pastro – Westshore
The best defender on the field in Westshore on Saturday night was easily,
Rebels veteran linebacker Chris Pastro. The hometown product collected a
game high five tackles, assisted on three, had two and a half sacks and
special teams tackle. He’s named the BC Lions Defensive Player of the Week.
Special Teams Player of the Week – Kicker – #30 Steve Thomas – Langley Rams
Saturday night the Langley Rams scored 33 points, and the BC Lions Special
Teams Player of the Week, Steve Thomas tallied 15 of those points. He was a
perfect 4-4 in field goals hitting from 14, 22, 33 and 44 yards out. He
also connected on all three converts. His punting had unbelievable
placement, pinning the Okanagan Sun deep in their own end, or up against
sidelines He kicked five punts, for a net of 125 yards.
