August 9th, 2014 – St. Catharines, Ont. (VIGolf.ca) – Johnny Travale (Hamilton, Ont.), Kennedy Bodfield (St. Catharines, Ont.) and Keaton Gudz (Victoria, BC) were able to manage the pressure today as all three juniors won their respective divisions at the CJGA Mizuno National Junior Golf Championship at Rockway Vineyards Golf Course in St. Catharines, Ontario.

Kennedy Bodfield rallied from a three-stroke deficit today to capture the Girls 11-19 division. Bodfield, who is a member of Rockway Vineyards Golf Course, played solid shooting her third 76 (+4) of the week to win the tournament by three-shots. Eunice Hong (Thornhill, Ont.) was looking to capture her division wire-to-wire, but an 82 (+10) today was not quite good enough for victory. Hong was still able to finish second though with a four-day total of 312 (+24), and rounding out the top-three was Oceane Jacques (Valcartier, QC), who shot the low-tournament score in the Girls division after shooting an amazing bogey-free round of 70 (-2).

Johnny Travale continued to shoot under-par today for the third consecutive day as he blew away the field in the Boys 14 & Under division with a four-day total of 283 (-5). Travale recorded three birdies and a clutch eagle on 16 en route to shooting a 68 (-4), which was the lowest score of the tournament. Finishing in a tie for second was Marco Trstenjak (Winnipeg, MB) and Matthew Anderson (Mississauga, Ont.) who finished with a four-day total of 291 (+3).

The Boys 15-19 division came down to the wire, as it was an exciting battle all afternoon between Keaton Gudz and Josh Montgomery (Ancaster, Ont.). Gudz ended up being victorious on the day after he played incredibly steady carding 11 consecutive pars from 8-18 to win by two-shots. Falling just short of the championship and finishing in second-place was Josh Montgomery after he fired a four-day total of 290 (+2). After shooting 75 (+3) today, Brad Currier (Oakville, Ont.) was able to capture a third-place finish with a four-day total of 293 (+5).
