Milosevic brings home silver from British National Championships

VANCOUVER – UBC Thunderbirds swimmer Stefan Milosevic won a silver medal at the British Gas National Championships, which took place Aug. 5-10 in Sheffield, England.

The Burnaby native was one of four Thunderbirds who made event finals at the meet while representing their clubs.
Milosevic’s silver medal came in the men’s 100-metre freestyle final, which he finished in 50.35 seconds, behind only double Commonwealth Games gold medalist, Ben Proud.
In the men’s 400-m freestyle final, Milosevic finished 10th in 4:19.91. He was also fourth in the 200-m freestyle heats but couldn’t swim in the final, which had a limited number for non-British swimmers.
Jonathan Brown, the reigning Canada West Male Rookie of the Year, was sixth in the 200-m individual medley with a time of 2:04.91 and eighth in the 400-m IM, touching the wall in 4:32.19.
West Vancouver’s Sergey Holson also made two finals. He was seventh in the 50-m breaststroke, finishing in 28.65, and eighth in the 100-m breaststroke (1:03.12).
Charlotte Philpotts was seventh in the women’s 100-m breaststroke, completing her swim in 1:12.07.
