Aug 28,2014(ISN) – OTTAWA (CIS) – The start of the 2014 CIS football regular season is only four days
away. A grand total of 124 games will be played across the country over the next
three months, culminating with the 50th TELUS Vanier Cup on November 29 at Percival
Molson Memorial Stadium in Montreal.
League play gets under way on Monday with five contests in the OUA conference. The
action kicks off the following weekend in the AUS, RSEQ and Canada West.
A number of pre-season matches have already been played over the past week and more
are scheduled this weekend, including a rematch of last year’s national final
between the Calgary Dinos and the reigning champion Laval Rouge et Or, Saturday
afternoon in Quebec City.
Leading up to the 50th TELUS Vanier Cup on Nov. 29, this year’s CIS semifinals –
both set for Nov. 22 – will see the Canada West champions visit the RSEQ titlists
(Uteck Bowl) and the AUS champs travel to Ontario to take on the winners of the OUA
banner (ArcelorMittal Mitchell Bowl).
