Regina pool set to reopen

REGINA – The Lawson Aquatic Centre in Regina will reopen on September 13 after nearly two months of renovations.

Among the major improvements are an ultraviolet water treatment system, an enhanced air distribution system and a source-capture system.

“From a visual perspective, you’re not going to really notice too much,” said Jill Hargrove, acting director of facility management services, to the Regina Leader Post.

“What (swimmers) are really going to notice is the improved air distribution, the reduction in the actual chloramines being produced and we’re really improving the removal of stale air.

“The most noticeable change will just be the new duct work that’s throughout the facility.”

The enhancements cost approximately $1.8 million.
