Sept 1,2014(ISN) – Brandon, MB. — The Brandon Wheat Kings reassigned
eleven players Sunday night following the club’s annual Canad Inns
Intrasquad game at Westman Communications Group Place.

Among the
players were four 17-year old prospects, three 16-year olds and four
15-year olds, who are ineligible to play in 2014-15.

Following is the list of the players reassigned Sunday night:

In
Monday’s annual Intrasquad game, Tim McGauley scored twice and set up
another while Jayce Hawryluk added a goal and three points to lead Team
White to a 6-3 victory.

Quintin Lisoway, Eric Roy and Jesse
Gabrielle also scored for the Whites, who outshot Team Black 41-29.
Brett Kitt, Kord Pankewicz and Colton Waltz replied for the Blacks, who
trailed 2-0 and 3-1 at the period breaks.

As a result of Sunday
night’s moves, the Wheat Kings have trimmed their pre-season roster to
33 players – three goalkeepers, ten defencemen and 20 forwards. Of
those, six will be leaving for National Hockey League training camps in
September (Jordan Papirny – Montreal Canadiens; Eric Roy – Calgary
Flames; Jayce Hawryluk – Florida Panthers; Peter Quenneville – Columbus
Blue Jackets; John Quenneville – New Jersey Devils and Richard
Nejezchleb – New York Rangers) and one is a 15-year old – center Stelio
Mattheos, who was the first overall selection in this year’s Western
Hockey League Bantam Draft.

A former member of
the AAA Midget Wheat Kings, Lewis was injured during this week’s Rookie
Camp and is expected to remain with the WHL club for the time being.
The 5’10” 176 lb. local product was chosen by Brandon in the third round
(47th overall) in the 2013 bantam draft.
