BrandonLeyh is heading into his third year with the Mount Allison Mountieswith high expectations and looking to make it three straightplayoff appearances as a starting Quarterback.

Asthe 2014 season approaches, his focus remains on the process, “Thegoal for this season is to improve on what we did lastseason. To get off to a better start than last year and toget the momentum early and ride it throughout the year.”

Witha slow start to 2013, Leyh caught fire the second half of theseason and eventually was voted as the AUS All-Star at theQuarterback position in just his second season. His twoseasons as the starter earned him a trip to Saskatchewan toparticipate in the CFL’s QB Internship program.

Leyhlooks at 2014 as another step in the learning process of a CISQuarterback.

“Mynumber one goal is just to be more consistent. I want tominimize my mistakes and learn from the mistakes that I do happento make. I never want to make the same mistaketwice.”

Leyh’sapproach to improvement was seen in 2013 as his first four startssaw him complete 44% of his passes as opposed to his final threeregular season starts where he completed 60%.

Afterfinishing his final year at St. Thomas More in BC, Brandon began togain valuable experience in the CJFL with the Langley Rams. Brandon’s final season ended with a stellar 12 to 1 TD/INT ratiothat caught the eye of the Mounties coaches.

Whilefootball is important to Leyh, his path to Mount Allison had astrong academic component, “Academics had a lot of influence on whyI chose Mount Allison. The reputation they have is knownnation-wide.”

Enteringjust his third season, Brandon’s top moment in a young career ishard to beat, “My most memorable moment has to be when I took thefinal snap and took a knee to win the Loney Bowl. It’s afeeling that I will never forget.”

Leyhcame up big in the Loney Bowl, throwing the game tying touchdownwith five minutes left in the fourth quarter while finishing15-for-23 with 245 yards and a TD.

A.It would be really difficult to live without football on TV all ofSunday.

Q.What is your favourite hobby…?
A.I would say golfing. Until I get to into it, then it’s justfrustrating.

Q.My dream vacation destination is…?
A.I have always wanted to stay in one of those “under water”hotels. Anywhere that has one of those would beamazing.

Q.Tell us one thing that fans may not know about you?
A.I have been a die-hard Steelers fan my whole life and my firstfavorite football player was Kordell Stewart.
