Sept 4,2014(ISN) – Kamloops, BC – The Kamloops Blazers announced today that they have signed
15-year-old defenseman Conner McDonald to a standard WHL player agreement.
McDonald was selected by the Blazers in the second round, 24th overall in the 2014
WHL Bantam Draft. He played last season with the North Shore Winter Club Bantam AAA
In 70 games last season, the Delta, BC native had 16 goals and 49 points along with
119 penalty minutes. McDonald helped his team win the Western Canadian Bantam
Championships last season.
“Conner had a very good camp with us,” commented General Manager, Craig Bonner. “He
is a solid two-way defenseman that competes hard. We look forward to watching him in
a Blazer uniform this weekend.”
The 5’11” and 170lb defenseman will play for the U-18 Delta Wild Hockey Academy for
the upcoming season.
McDonald will join the Blazers for the weekend. He will suit up for one of the two
preseason games that will be played in Delta, BC at Sungod Arena. The Blazers will
play the Victoria Royals on Saturday, September 6th at 3:00pm and against the
Vancouver Giants on Sunday, September 7th at 5:00pm.
